Paul describes what the people of God have received from Him: “who [Yehovah] has blessed us with all spiritual blessings in heavenly places in the Messiah: according as He has chosen us in him [the Messiah] before the foundation of the world, that we should be holy and without blame before Him in love: Having predestinated [marked out beforehand] us unto the adoption of children because of Jesus the Messiah to Himself, according to the good pleasure of His will, to the praise of the glory of His grace, wherein He has made us accepted [reconciled] in the beloved. In whom [the Messiah] we have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of sins, according to the riches of His [Yehovah’s] grace; wherein He has abounded toward us in all wisdom and prudence; having made known unto us the mystery of His will, according to His good pleasure which He has purposed in Himself: That in the dispensation of the fullness of times He might gather together in one all things in the Messiah, both which are in heaven, and which are on earth; even in him: In whom [the Messiah] also we have obtained an inheritance, being predestinated [marked out beforehand] according to the purpose of Him who works all things after the counsel of His own will: That we should be to the praise of His glory, who first trusted in the Messiah. In whom [the Messiah] you also trusted, after that you heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation: in whom also after that you believed, you were sealed with the promised spirit, which is the earnest [down payment] of our inheritance until the redemption of the purchased possession, unto the praise of His glory. (Ephesians 1:3-14).
This speaks of a people specially marked out by the work of the spirit of Yehovah. The spirit of Yehovah has produced in them a distinguishing mark, a glorious inner enabling power, something supernatural that has changed them forever.
They are not ordinary anymore. They are no longer “of this world,” since they have set their affections on things above, not on the things of this earth. They are not disturbed by world events; they are no longer lukewarm or halfhearted. Instead, their hearts cry out night and day, “Come quickly, lord Jesus...”
What happened to them? What did the spirit of Yehovah do in these believers? What marked and sealed them forever as Yehovah’s possession?

... for, I did not shrink from declaring to you the whole purpose of God. Keep watch over yourselves and over all the flock, of which the holy spirit has made you overseers, to shepherd the called-out Assembly of God that He obtained with the blood of his own Son.
The spirit of God - Yehovah gives to His sons and daughters, a foretaste of the glory of His presence. He indwells them and they experience a supernatural manifestation of His exceeding greatness.
