This is the one thing that spiritual-appearing people lack. You may look at another as being a spiritual person, not realizing that person may actually be struggling hard to keep up an appearance of righteousness.
God looks on all those who are truly living by the spirit and declares: “There is a righteous man or woman.” Why? Because they have admitted their helplessness to become righteous relying on their own strength and have come before Yehovah to give them His righteousness.
The writer of Hebrews tells us we are accounted as righteous in God’s eyes only with one important qualification. “Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen” (Hebrews 11:1, NKJV).
“Without faith, it is impossible to please Him, for he who comes to God must believe that He is and that He is a rewarder of those who diligently seek Him” (Hebrews 11:6).
Note:
Romans 4:3: For what says the scripture? And Abraham believed God, and it was reckoned unto him for righteousness.
Galatians 3:6: Even as Abraham believed God, and it was reckoned unto him for righteousness.
James 2:23: and the scripture was fulfilled which says, And Abraham believed God, and it was reckoned unto him for righteousness....
You may claim, “I believe this. I have faith in the God who resurrected Jesus.” The real question for you is do you believe Yehovah can resurrect your troubled marriage? Do you believe He can bring to life a spiritually dead relative? Do you believe He can raise you up out of the pit of a debilitating habit? Do you believe Yehovah can blot out your cursed past? Do you trust His promise “So I will restore to you the years that the swarming locust has eaten” (Joel 2:25)?
“Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus the Messiah, the Father of mercies and God of all comfort, who comforts us in all our affliction, so that we may be able to comfort those who are in any affliction, with the comfort with which we ourselves are comforted by God. For as we share abundantly in the Messiahs's sufferings, so through the Messiah we share abundantly in comfort too” (2 Corinthians 1:3-5, ESV)
When everything looks hopeless; when you are in an impossible situation, with no resources, and no hope before you; do you believe God will be your Yehovah Jirah, seeing your need?
Every trial we go through is an opportunity for the testimony of the Messiah to be made manifest in our lives. Learning to thank our God and Father Yehovah for the trials is critical not only for our sake but for those around us.
Do you believe our God Yehovah is committed to keeping His promises to you! If we are struggling to have this faith, we must go to the Messiah, the uniquely begotten son of God, like the man with the demon-tormented son. “Jesus said to him, ‘If you can believe, all things are possible to him who believes.’ Immediately the father of the child cried out and said with tears, ‘Lord, I believe; help my unbelief!’” (Mark 9:23-24).
Indeed, we all believe but we need to ask our God and Father Yehovah to help us when unbelieving thoughts enter our minds! We all have experienced unbelieving thoughts that enter our minds from time to time and that is when we need to immediately ask our God and Father to help us to believe and trust in HIm absolutely and completely.
If we love our God and Father with all of our hearts, mind, and the strength of our being we will realize how perfect love casts out fear and unbelief!
