STEPS TO SALVATION

REALIZE THAT GOD LOVES YOU AND HAS PROMISED A WONDERFUL PLAN FOR YOUR LIFE

GOD'S PROMISE

Eternal life (in the future), and abundant life (now)

“For God so loved the world, that He gave His uniquely begotten son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish, but have eternal life.” (John 3:16)

"I came that they may have life, and have it abundantly.” (John 10:10)

The Bible describes the abundant life as a full and meaningful life of pardon, peace, purpose, and power. Why are many people not experiencing this life?

2. THE HUMAN PROBLEM IS REBELLION, WHICH CAUSES SEPARATION FROM GOD

THE PROBLEM

Rebellion

“All of us like sheep have gone astray, Each of us has turned to his own way” (Isaiah 53:6)

“for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God” (Romans 3:23)

Sin is an attitude of active or passive rebellion

Separation

“For the wages of sin is death” (Romans 6:23)

Yehovah - our God and our Father, created us to have a harmonious relationship with Him. Using the free will given us, we've chosen to go our own independent way and this relationship was broken. There is only one solution to this problem.

3. DISCOVER THAT JESUS THE MESSIAH IS GOD'S ONLY SOLUTION FOR THE HUMAN PROBLEM

The Solution

"But God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were yet sinners, the Messiah died for us.” (Romans 5:8)

“For the Messiah also died for sins once for all, the just for the unjust, so that he might bring us to God” (1 Peter 3:18)

“Jesus said to him, ‘I am the way, and the truth, and the life; no one comes to the Father but through me.' “ (John 14:6)

God has provided the ONLY WAY … we must make the choice

4. RESPOND BY TURNING TO JESUS AND RECEIVING HIM AS SAVIOR AND LORD

“But as many as received him, to them he gave the right to become children of God, even to those who believe in his name” (John 1:12)

“Therefore repent and return, so that your sins may be wiped away, in order that times of refreshing may come from the presence of the Lord” (Acts 3:19)

“Behold, I (the Messiah Jesus) stand at the door and knock; if anyone hears my voice and opens the door, I will come in to him” (Revelation 3:20)

Is there any good reason why I should not receive Jesus as savior and lord?

5. KNOW THAT GOD DESIRES TO ENTER INTO A COVENANT OF LIFE WITH YOU

WHEN YOU BELIEVE Jesus the Messiah to be God's uniquely begotten son, you believe what the Bible teaches, and are willing to open your life unto Jesus as your personal savior and lord and make this complete commitment of self, which involves the intellect, emotion, and will.

FAITH: “So faith comes from hearing, and hearing by the word of the Messiah.” (Romans 10:17). Faith is belief, confidence and trust. See also Hebrews 11:6.

REPENTANCE: "repent and return, so that your sins may be wiped away" (Acts 3:19). Repentance is recognition of sin, regret of sin, and renunciation of sin. See Revelation 3:19.

BAPTISM: “Repent, and each of you be baptized in the name of Jesus the Messiah for the forgiveness of your sins" (Acts 2:38). Baptism means immersion. Immersion is the seal of this personal covenant with the Messiah. "For all of you who were baptized into the Messiah have clothed yourselves with the Messiah." (Galatians 3:27).

6. WE MUST STRIVE FOR SPIRITUAL MATURITY

THE CHANGE: “Therefore if anyone is in the Messiah, he is a new creation; the old things passed away; behold, new things have come." (2 Corinthians 5:17).

“you laid aside the old self with its evil practices, and have put on the new self who is being renewed to a true knowledge according to the image of the One who created him" (Colossians 3:9,10).

To maintain and enrich this relationship a person MUST have: . . .

            1.    Food (1 Peter 2:2)

            2.    Love (John 15:12)

            3.    Protection (1 Peter 5:8)

            4.    Training (2 Timothy 2:2)

            5.    Constant prayer (Matthew 7:7)

            6.    Read and obey God's Word

            7.    Attend Church Regularly (Hebrews 10:25)

            8.    Become involved in the work of the Messiah through the Church.

            9.    Share your Faith in the Messiah.
